Where the leaves conspire to hide big brown toads from the unsuspecting moths..
And the moonlight filters eerily through branches to cast dancing demon shadows on the pungent leaf mulch floor…
Amongst the fly agarics, with their ladybird spots and their following of fungi … a slow purposeful movement stirs…
Seilcheag the snail queen has awoken.
She carries her cape of mushrooms triumphantly as she promenades on her early evening amble.
If you ever meet her … remember to be polite, for she has little tolerance for a lack of manners 🐌 ✨(but she does love shortbread … if you have any)
